Well, I have been absent for far too long. I had felt better but I am still not 100%. But I need to get back into blogging, so here I am.
Granddaughter turned 1 yr. old a few weeks ago. We spent the day with them and other family. It was a fun day.
Last saturday at when I was at work at the Red Barn Studio, we had a wedding in the large courtyard. It was just wonderful. It was a Scottish wedding so all the groomsmen were in kilts. I stayed 2 hours late just to see it all. Loved it.
Cool weather is on the way tomorrow. It was too hot today. Maybe a small chance of rain. Too small a chance.
My movie class at Bethany College is going well. I am enjoying it. And the ‘real’ students are fun! Seen some good movies, several I had not even heard of. Interesting.

Well, I have been absent for far too long. With the drought, stress, and my depression all getting increasingly bad, I just could not blogg. I miss it though. Feeling a bit better so here we go again.
Had a really busy weekend. Spent friday with 2 good friends. We ate out, had coffee, and lots of talk!! I ran errands and then supper at Jalisco's. That is not only the best food in town, but the folks who work there are some of the nicest people I have met. I am proud to call them my friends.
Friday nite I had to drive to Great Bend KS for visitation for a dear friend who died. I will miss her forever. Her son is a close friend of mine who has had some really bad times. Not seen him or talked to him in far too long. We could not quit hugging and we both had tears. After visitation we went out for supper. I also met his partner and another friend. Like them both.
Saturday I worked in Lindsborg at the Red Barn Studio. I was fairly busy. Asked Willie to eat out for supper and he even agreed. What a surprise!
Sunday I was up early and on a bus trip to Kansas City to the New Theatre to see Hairspray. It was just awesome!! Such great music. Hard to sit still! Great actors. Awesome food. At then end of the post is a slide show of the day.
Today I started a class at Bethany College. It is the Art of Movies. The professor is a good friend. We always eat out before class. Fun. Have quite a few in our class, more guys than gals. Should be a fun semester.

Weather - drought continues. There is a burn ban here but a fire almost every day. Today one got very near a small town near here. Could have been tragic. Glad it was not.
I have no energy to blogg. Far too stressed. We are now hauling water to our cattle. There is not enough grass growing so we still have to feed them. Without rain, is there any use to planting wheat this autumn? And the scary thing is, this is probably our new norm. I do not like it.

Weather continues really hot. Always at least 104+. God, help us. Is grass supposed to crunch when one walks on it??
Last week was busy. I went to Wichita to shop and to see my diabetic doctor. I was almost scared to see him. My blood sugars have been so flaky. But. I lost 4 pounds and he made no changes. Thinking I might be fighting a cold or something. And the heat. And the constant stress. It all takes it toll. Also had a mini-class reunion. That was sooo much fun!! There was 20 of us. Oh, for the laughs and memories. Love our times together. They are not my class mates. Most of the friends I had in high school never talked to me once we graduated. These friends are 2 years older and are so much fun. And have adopted me!
Had some sad times lately. Our town had 3 doctors. The hospital board fired one, then a second one resigned. Leaves just one doc and one PA and I have heard the PA may leave. Well, lots of luck replacing them. Who in their right mind takes a job where things are that bad? Then the end of last week a young man around 17 was killed in a car accident. I did not know him but have known his mother for a long time. So, so sad. Nice kid.
Made a new friend a couple of weeks ago and another one last week. Both are very nice and fun and kind. I am blessed. Now some photos. Having way too much fun with my iPhone!!!

Weather was hot again. Again. It surely gets old. The heat just wears you down. Even if you are inside.
Working day today at the Red Barn Studio in Lindsborg. I had hoped for a quiet day. And I got it. Almost too quiet. I almost always like being at work but today was painful. I just really wanted to leave. No idea why. Maybe just tired. No artist in residence until tomorrow. Then Sally Johnson comes back. She used to work at the Red Barn!
I stopped at the Smoky Hill Cemetery to visit my friend John's grave. His birthday today. Still so painful. I miss him so much. We did so much together. Now I do lots alone. Seems like every day, get more and more alone. This week I was busy but not all weeks are like that. I eat alone more than I do with someone. If I want to go to a movie or play or art show, it is always alone. And I always travel alone.
I had not been home too long when Willie told me to come with him. There was a huge fire and he wanted to see it. Well, we only got to see the smoke. The fire was in the nearby bombing range and it is a restricted area. Appeared to have burned a couple of miles of range. Slide show link below. Weather was hot again. Again. Over 100 most of the day. Had Swedish group, lunch at Pizza Hut with 4 of the Five J's, then a road trip to Colby Kansas and back. A long but fun day.
